Terri and Tiffany, the founders of The Ragdoll Restoration Foundation, found themselves heartbroken in a situation they determined to turn into an opportunity - for themselves and others.
"When I found myself holding Tiffany as she was a few hours old, I discover a love that I had not known before"...I have always said; "I learned to love through Tiffany, she was my first love". My sister, (Tiffany's mother) was incarcerated and precious Tiffany became my joy to raise and assist until the age of 9. We learned a great deal together and want to share with others how they too can "walk without a limp".
Tiffany, now 18 years old, graduated from Hillcrest Christian High School and attending Cal Lutheran College in Thousand Oaks, will speak from her heart on the perspective of being the daughter of a parent in prison. Terri and Tiffany determined long ago that this often overlooked and forgotten population of young girls of a parent in prison will have a voice - through them. We are dedicated to speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves. "Finding way to increase human well being though right action and courage".
We have lived it and now we turn to walk along-side those who are in similar places. They CAN "walk without a limp".
We may not be able to take them out of their environment, however, we can offer them something to change the atmosphere".
Raising the Bar brings opportunity to these young girls of a parent in prison. We are committed to investing in these young girls' tools and skills that will be put on the inside of them - to bring them encouragement, empowerment, choice and hope.
