Terri and Tiffany, the founders of Ragdoll Restoration, found themselves heartbroken in a situation they determined to turn into an opportunity—for themselves and others.
“When I found myself holding Tiffany as she was a few hours old, I discovered a love that I had not known before”...I have always said; “I learned to love through Tiffany, she was my first love”. My sister, (Tiffany’s mother) was incarcerated and precious Tiffany became my joy to raise and assist until the age of 9. We learned a great deal together and want to share with others how they too can “walk without a limp”.
Tiffany, now 18 years old, graduated from Hillcrest Christian High School and accepted at Cal Lutheran Christian College in Thousand Oaks, will speak from her heart on the perspective of being the daughter of a parent in prison. Terri and Tiffany determined long ago that this often overlooked and forgotten population of young girls of an incarcerated parent, will have a voice—through them. We are dedicated to speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves. “Finding ways to increase human well being through right action and courage”.
We have lived it and now we turn to walk along-side those who are in similar places.
They can “walk without a limp”.
“We may not be able to take them out of their environment, but we can offer them something to change the atmosphere”.
“Raising the Bar Fundraiser” event is to bring opportunity to these young girls of an incarcerated parent. We are committed to investing in these young girls tools and skills that will be put on the inside of them—to bring them encouragement, empowerment, choice and hope.
On the day, a collection of Stunt Women will be teaching the self defense program. “Sandy G” and her team from Billy Blanks World Training Center will be overseeing the program. There will also be a self care program (skin and nails), a poise and posture class, exercise and food session, and life coaching with Terri Cadiente. Sandy G, a second degree black belt, trained by World renowned Billy Blanks himself, will bring with her a team of black belt Stunt Women who teach self defense to train the girls in all aspects of personal boundaries through self defense.
At lunch, Terri and Tiffany will share how they navigated the very journey these young girls are on and model how to: “walk without a limp”. They will encourage each young girl to be inspired to live by a heart at choice and walk in freedom.
The conclusion of this special day will infuse a message of hope and freedom, new relationships, support and empowerment for these young girls with the awareness that “your past does not indicate your future” and “by choice you frame your world”. Each girl will be given a sachelle (bag) of products that support everything they learned on this day.
Please assist us in impacting lives for the tomorrows of our world.
